Empowering Our Youth. Strengthening Our Community.

At Have A Child For A Day Program, we are committed to helping children grow into strong, honorable, and self-motivated young adults. Through mentorship, youth development, and community partnerships, we provide meaningful opportunities that foster resilience, discipline, and purpose.

Founded in 1997 by John and Victor Sherrell, and reinstated by Thomas Sherrell in 2006, our nonprofit is rooted in a legacy of love, leadership, and lasting impact. Since officially reactivating in 2015, we’ve continued to serve children and families through educational programs, sports, food assistance, and more.

YOUTH SPORTS

Baseball and other athletics promote teamwork, discipline, and health.

GROUP DANCE

A creative outlet for self-expression, teamwork, and joy.

MENTORING

Equipping youth with confidence, values, and life skills.

FOOD ASSISTANCE

Partnering with churches and nonprofits to provide meals for families in need.

Why It Matters

Every child deserves guidance, love, and opportunity. By reaching just one child, we uplift families—and by uplifting families, we strengthen our entire community.

The Ripple Effect

When we invest in a single child, we create waves of positive change that extend far beyond that individual. A child who receives mentorship and support becomes a source of strength for their siblings, parents, and peers.

Our programs address not just immediate needs, but build foundations for long-term success that can transform entire family systems.
